From the UNESCO-listed place Stanislas to the Art nouveau of the Villa Majorelle: Nancy is best explored on foot, right by the apartment.
In every season and at any hour, place Stanislas is magical, spellbinding and soothing. The first European square: gilding, sculptures, evening illuminations. The favourite spot of the people of Nancy — not to be missed on any account!
On place Stanislas, one of Nancy's great cultural venues showcases the leading names in the history of art. Its collections are rich in twentieth-century works, with the extraordinary Daum glassware and the space devoted to Jean Prouvé.
A flagship of the École de Nancy and a showcase house of Art nouveau. Commissioned by Louis Majorelle from the architect Henri Sauvage, it rose from the ground in 1902. Open Wednesday to Sunday, 2 pm–6 pm (tickets online).
